Christmas in California

We left for California on the 18th of December. Funny story about our flight. When I made the reservation I didn't look very close at the am/pm times. I just saw a flight leaving at 12:30 and landing at 3:00. I assumed it was the afternoon and thought it would be perfect. A week later I looked at our fight confirmation and realized that the flight left at 12:30AM!!! Can you say pregnancy brain!?!? Ugggggh! It was expensive to change, so we just kept it. It was kind of rough. My plan to have Lila sleep on the plane didn't work out, thanks to some really rambunctious kids behind us. But anyway, we made it! And from now on I am going to triple check the am/pm times on flights before I buy them.

We made it to California and just had a great time catching up with family. All my siblings were able to come out for Christmas, so we were all together. Lila is the only grandchild on the Wheeler side, so she had lots of aunts and uncles and Grandma and Grandpa to play with her and entertain her. She's one lucky girl!

Some highlights of our trip were: looking at the lights on Strand, watching the BYU football game with a bunch of the Wheeler extended family, seeing Star Wars, eating In-N-Out (I'm not even going to tell you how many times we went there while we were in CA- a lot! I blame the baby!) visiting my sweet Grandma, baking Christmas treats, Christmas program at church, having our traditional Christmas Eve dinner and program, Christmas morning, big extended family Wheeler fun-day, Paul and I's get-away to Carmel, San Fransisco, visiting Paul's aunt, uncle, and his cousin and her family in San Ramon (separate post on visiting all those places), visiting my Grandpa's grave site, and lots of late nights play games. So much fun squished into 2 weeks! We loved every second of it.

Lila's aunts and uncles put together a little nativity puppet show for her. It was so sweet!

Lila was obsessed with my parents dog, Bailey. She loved Bailey-- maybe a little too much! But I love this picture of Lila snuggling with her.

We took some family pictures and now have a new, updated picture of all of us

We took some of just our family. I love this one of some family kisses!

4 generations! Visiting my sweet Grandma

We got to see our good friends, The Jeppesons, that used to live in Fort Collins. Lila and Owen were good buddies and it was fun to see them back together again. We're hoping they'll get married someday!
