Camping at Bellaire Lake

We went camping for this weekend at Bellaire Lake. It was a blast! It was Lila's first time and she absolutely loved it. Sometimes I just feel like toddlers are just meant to be outside-- all the time. She had fun exploring, looking for animals, hoarding sticks and rocks. However, I think she was so excited that she couldn't sleep. She had a hard time and woke up couple times she woke up wanting to go "owwwside" (outside) and looks for "ah-mils"(animals). But even though we didn't get the best night of sleep, it was totally worth it. We went up with our friends, The Herreras. They have a little boy Lila's age and they are BFF's-- so it was fun to have them up there with us too.

It's been a while since I had been camping and I had forgotten just how peaceful and refreshing it is to my soul. It's so nice to leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life and just sit outside and look at the stars while eating s'more (also another one of my favorite things about camping!) I hope we can do a lot more camping in the future.

We taught her how to gather sticks for the fire... she took her job really seriously

She saw Paul hitting some big logs against a tree to break them up for the fire, so she went over and started hitting her sticks on the tree just like Dad :)

Getting tickled (tortured) by Dad. That face! Haha

All of us in our tent. I guess Lila isn't sure about it?

It was so beautiful up there!

She was so happy being outside-- that little dimple is my favorite!
