After we spent the weekend remembering the life of my Grandpa Cummings, we spent some time together as a family down at the beach in Aptos/Santa Cruz.
Lila LOVED the beach. She is just a water girl. She loved water-- even though it was super cold. At one point I think it got a little too cold for her, so I got some good snuggle time with her (she is usually not a snuggler- she is a girl on the move!) while I warmed her up. She figured out that the sand was really warm so she would just lay in the sand and roll around and bury her feet. She loved picking shells and little sand crabs out of the sand. She also loved all the dogs that would pass by on walks. She would try to chase them down the beach so she could pet them. We made a lot of doggie friends ;)
Lila is the only grandchild (so far!) on the Wheeler side-- so she gets all the attention of her aunts and uncles and grandma and grandpa. She always had someone to play with her. Lucky Lila!
After Lila would go down for the night, we would play games and eat treats. We stopped my our traditional Marianne's Ice Cream-- twice! We've been going there since we were little. They have a bunch of interesting flavors of ice cream and it's SO GOOD!
Anyway, it was nice to be able to relax and spend time together!

Lila woke up waaaaay before everyone else. So we would go on morning walks together.
