Heinzen's do Hawaii

Hawaii was paradise! It was so what I needed. It was relaxing and just so great to be together as a family and be able to visit Paul's parents. I think Lila loved that she could just wear a diaper... and not have to put on layers of clothes to go outside like we do in Colorado!

The flight there was not so relaxing. We can barely keep Lila entertained for an hour at church during Sacrament Meeting. So trying to keep her entertained during 2 flights and a 4 hour layover going to Hawaii was quite the task. We were beginning to wonder if it was going to be worth it (it totally was!) It was like wrestling a monkey though.

But we made it! We had fun going to the beach, swimming, playing in the sprinklers, going on walks, going to the zoo, touring a macadamia nut factory, eating yummy food, visiting the temple, relaxing, taking naps. So many good memories. It was fun to see Lila experience things for the first time and to see her build relationships with her grandparents.

On our way to Hawaii! Lila loved pointing at all the planes.

At Onekahakaha Beach

Lila loved the sand... until she tried to taste it. We tried to stop her, but she was too fast!

We went up to Namakanipaio up by Volcano National Park and cooked some foil dinners. It's so beautiful up there! It's green with these big trees.

Cooking the dinners

Drinking orange juice with Dad. Grandpa made some fresh orange juice from the orange tree in their backyard. Lila had her first sip of juice.

Walking around the orchard together. So sweet!

Playing in the sprinklers

Grandma and Grandpa watched Lila and we went on a little date to Liliuokalani Park right by the ocean. Check out that beautiful Banyan tree! They are my favorite!

Only in Hawaii... haha! Spam is everywhere!

Playing at the park in the zoo.

Walking around the zoo!

I love what Hawaii did to Lila's hair. Look at those waves!

Touring the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory. Best part was the free samples!

Lila was pointing at everything.

Looking at the pretty flowers at the Kona Temple

I love this picture of them walking up to the temple!

Lila got eaten by a shark!

Beautiful view in Kona

Back at the beach!

On a walk with Grandpa

Riding on Dad's shoulders

Kisses from Grandma! We miss her already!

Surfing the waves ;) with Grandpa and Dad

We went down the road and fed "Bugsy" the donkey and his little goat pals some bananas almost every morning.

We loved seeing Grandma and Grandpa in Hawaii! We're looking forward to our next trip back. Can we come next month?!?! ;)
