Uncle Sam comes to Visit

Paul's younger brother, Sam, came out to visit last weekend. He drove all the way out from Utah by himself just to spend a couple days with us. We LOVE having family visit and are so happy he came.

He got into town late Thursday night. I had already gone to bed, but saw him Friday morning when he woke up. Sam, Lila, and I hung out that morning while Paul was at work and then met up for lunch with Paul that afternoon. We introduced Sam to 5 GUYS. Which he loved... who doesn't love 5 Guys? Then we went shopping at Target and helped Sam pick out some clothes. Then we went home and took naps until Paul came home.

We went over to Sam's club to go shopping for some food. It was getting close to Lila's bedtime, but I thought if we made if a quick trip we would be good. She was so sleepy! I'm sure being pushed around in that cart didn't help. Her eyes were getting heavy and she was fading fast. We had the funnest time trying to keep her awake on the way home. She was probably so annoyed with us. We got her to bed and then watched Gravity. Paul and I had been wanting to see it for a while. It was really good- but I felt like I was going to have a heart attack the whole time. I definitely have no desire to go to space. Ever!

Lila had a really rough night that night and Paul and I didn't get a lot of sleep. So Saturday ended up being more relaxed than we had planned. We had thought about going on a hike and having a picnic and stuff. But we were so dead! Sam was such a good sport about it! We had an assignment to clean the church that morning so Paul and Sam went and did that. How nice is Sam to be willing to do that while he's on "vacation"? Seriously. They came home and took Lila to run some errands and got LaMar's donuts while I took a little nap. We played some card games- which got super intense and watched Seinfeld while Lila napped. There were a lot of naps that day.

That afternoon we went down to Old Town. We had dinner at the Japanese place called Jeju. Luckily they had some dairy/soy free options. That can get tricky when eating out. We walked around and showed Sam some of our favorite shops. There was this choir of old men singing cute little songs in one of the squares down there. So we watched them sing for a while and were super entertained. Then we went home and put Lila down and watched Pirates of the Caribbean.

Sunday we went to church and Sam left after Sacrament Meeting. It was a quick trip. Lila just loved Uncle Sam! She would just stare at him and just follow him around the room (like turning her head- she's not mobile yet!) Thanks for coming out and visiting Sam! We love you!
