Lila's Baby Blessing

Lila was blessed by her Dad on Sunday, May 11- which also happened to be Mother's Day too! We didn't really plan for it to be that day specifically, it just kind of turned out that was when family was able to make it out- but it did make my first Mother's Day extra special.

In our church, babies receive a blessing when they are born. In the blessing they are "officially" given a name by which they will be called and also a little blessing for the life ahead of them. We were so happy that our families could be a part of it. My parents, my brother, Justin, my brother, Collin, and his wife, Kaitlin, Paul's parents, Paul's brother, Jon, his wife, Dee, and their baby, Ezra, all where able to come out for the blessing. My cousin Rebecca and her family were able to drive up from Denver too. And there were other family members who weren't able to make it out but were there in "spirit".

I bought Lila a cute little summery blessing dress- thinking it would be nice and warm in May. But it snowed the day of her blessing! But it was a beautiful day.

Paul's blessing was really tender and simple. As much as we love Lila, I know that she is a daughter of of Heavenly Father and that he loves her just as much as we do. I'm so grateful for my eternal family.

We look a lot of pictures of different family members and Lila. My Dad joked that you can definitely tell Lila is our first child because we want to take pictures of everything- which is so true. Our other children probably won't have near as many pictures. Lucky Lila! Thanks to my sis-in-law, Kaitlin, for taking these photos with her nice camera. They turned out great and I'm so happy that we have them to look back on. I meant to get a big one of everyone all together after the blessing- but I had to run to Primary and other families members had to leave- so unfortunately that didn't happen. So sorry we didn't get pictures with everyone that was there. But here are a few of my favorites...
