Lila: 1 Month

So, this post is a little late. But Lila is now one month old! Time is just flying by. She has already grown so much just in the first month. I look at pictures from her in the hospital and I look at her now and she looks so different. Yesterday I put her in the outfit that she wore home from the hospital and it barely fit. Lila being one month was also a milestone for Paul and I... we've officially made it a month without sleep. Paul and I were reminiscing the other night back to the days when we would fall asleep at night and wake up the next morning and actually feel rested. Haha! Those days are over for now. But we love our sweet Lila. There have definitely been hard moments, but Lila makes up for those by giving us so many sweet moments.

Here are some Lila facts:

  • Lila has quite the collection of nicknames: Lilers, Lila Loo, Loo, Miss Loo, Looers, Lilee, Little Grump, Pretty Girl, and there are probably more. Paul isn't really big into nicknames. When we were dating (or maybe even engaged?) I had to ask him to call me "Joce" instead of "Jocelyne" haha! But he calls Lila some of the nicknames too.
  • This girl has a mullet! Lila was born with lots of hair. But especially in the back! I would say it goes a good half inch or so down her neck. She gets some pretty crazy bed hair too.
  • Lila is the queen of spit-up. She spits up a lot. It gets on her clothes, my clothes, the couch, her crib, our bed- anywhere BUT the burp cloth.
  • She loves having her diaper changed. I don't think she has ever cried (really!) getting her diaper changed. She can be screaming right before, but once we lay her down on the changing table and start changing her diaper she just lays there happy.
  • She loves the Moby and ALWAYS ends up falling asleep in it. I love having her close to me and  having my hands free to get some stuff done. Putting her in the Moby is always our last resort if we can't get her to sleep. The only problem is taking her out of the Moby once she falls asleep in it and having her still stay asleep. We're still working on that..
  • Lila loves to look at the blinds. If she is ever fussy, we will take her over to the blinds and her eyes will get all wide and she will just stare at them in awe.
  • She makes the cutest noises in her sleep. She has some cute grunts and whimpers, but our favorite sound that she makes is like this cute little high pitched whine that almost makes it sound like she's singing. We love it!
And, of course, this post wouldn't be complete without TONS of pictures. We can't help it!
