We had some visitors out here in Fort Collins. Yay! Paul's parents came out to visit from Hawaii. They sacrificed their warm tropical weather and swapped it for some cold Colorado snow. We had to go buy some extra scarves, hats, and shoes for them. But they survived!
We got to show them our house- which was mostly unpacked by the time they came. They got here on Friday afternoon, so we went and picked Paul up from work and went out to thai food. Somehow it's become a tradition to go to thai food with them. We went after Paul's graduation, and then when we visited them in Hawaii- so of course we would go out to thai food when they came out here! Luckily Paul and I had already found a thai place that we liked. Paul and I get the same thing every time. I get Pad Thai and Paul gets Massman Curry. We lucked out and got to see some Christmas fireworks they were setting off at the shopping center we were at. There were carolers and I think I saw Santa there too. Afterwards we went to Spooners for frozen yogurt. I was already stuffed, but I just couldn't pass up Spooners.
We spent Friday night and Saturday afternoon just hanging out and talking. Sometimes doing nothing and just sitting around talking is just the best. Paul went and showed his Dad where he works at Avago. Paul's Dad is an engineer too. Paul and his Dad also fixed our garage door, which was having issues. Hooray!! Karen and I went shopping and cooked yummy food. Later that night we took them down to Old Town. We all bundled up in our coats and hats. Paul has a favorite "mountain man" hat he likes to wear when he's really cold. And luckily we had another matching one for this Dad. The trees down there are all covered with lights for the holidays. It makes everything look so magical!! We did some window shopping and just walked around. But of course we had to stop by Mary's Mountain Cookies. I think we've taken ever person that has ever come out to visit us there. It's just to delicious to pass up!
Sunday they came to church with us. It was a really relaxing day! And Monday they took off for Utah. It was so fun to have them out here and to show them what it's like out here in Fort Collins. I'm just hoping they won't hold the winter weather against us and come visit us again. They said next time they'll probably try to come in the summer. I don't blame them!
