Wheeler Road Trip Part 2: SoCal

Day 1: We went down to Hollywood. Growing up in CA, we went down to Southern California a lot, but we had never been to Hollywood. So we braved the L.A. traffic (which was horrible) and went down there. We went to Grauman's (now TCL I guess?) Chinese Theater. Every year they choose a couple influential celebs to put there handprints/footprints in the courtyard. There were hundreds so we had a fun time walking around finding famous celebs. But I have to admit there were quite a few people I had never heard of. I took some pictures of my favorites though... Shirley Temple, Michael Jackson, Harry Potter cast, Jimmy Stewart, Julie Andrews, and Tom Hanks.

Outside of the Chinese Theater is where you see the famous starts. There are thousands of them lining both sides of the street. Here's Walt Disney's...

We couldn't leave Hollywood without getting a good view of the Hollywood sign. We drove up in the hills in search for the perfect view-- here's what we got...

Day 2: Disneyland day! My family is a "Disneyland family". We've gone there since we were little, and it still isn't old. We've never been in the summer before. We usually tried to go in the fall or spring when it's less crowded. We were a little bit worried it would be completely packed and we would spend most of our time waiting in line. But it wasn't as bad as we thought. We got there super early right when it opened, and then left in the afternoon when it was really hot and crowded, and then came back at night when all the little kids were gone. Perfect plan!

Day 3: California Adventure! More family fun. We got to see the new Car's Land that they have there. It is SWEET!! The line is so long, but luckily we were able to snag some fast passes when we first got there in the morning. But so worth it!

Day 4: Temple & Beach day! We went to the Newport Beach Temple. It's gorgeous! It reminds me of the Sacramento Temple, except it has some Spanish architecture. It was nice after a couple of craziness, to have a more peaceful and relaxed day.

After the temple, we drove to Huntington Beach. It was SO crowded. I know it doesn't look like it in the picture I took, but there were hundreds of people. It was a beautiful day, so I don't blame everyone for wanting to go to the beach!

That was our time in SoCal... then we were off to Las Vegas!
