I always joke with Paul that if I had met him when he was just starting school at BYU, I might not have married him (but really- just kidding!). Being a wife to an Electrical Engineering major can be rough- luckily it was just for a year and a half and not all four years.
The EE major made my major (Sociology) look like preschool. Seriously. There were a lot of late nights, a ton of homework, and 5+ hour long tests. But he did it and I couldn't be more proud of him!! I'm not sure who was when he graduated happier: him or me.

The happy graduate |
Paul's parents were able to be out here. My siser-in-law Dee graduated too from UVU that weekend- so that worked out really well. Paul's Dad is an engineer, so it was neat for Paul to have him there. Elder Perry spoke at Commencement. What I remember from his talk was the importance of balance between work, school, church, family, fun, etc.

The next day was Convocation at the Smith Fieldhouse. When they read his name they totally pronounced it wrong haha! They got the Paul part right but then they said his middle name, Chiado, as "Kee-ando" and his last name as "Hin-sen". But that's ok, we will forgive them. I am so proud of this boy and all the hard work he has put into school. Paul really does have a passion for engineering and learning and it has definitely paid off!
Paul's Dad told me of a time when he was working on building something when Paul was little. Paul came up and wanted to help. So he gave Paul a box of nails, a hammer, and block of wood and told Paul to hammer the nails in the wood. He thought he would get bored after a few, but he came back and Paul had put the ENTIRE box of nails in the wood. Another story I've heard is they asked Paul when we was little what he wanted to be when he grew up and he said "I want to be a hawd wowker" (he couldn't say his r's when he was little. so cute!)And that's my Pauly!

At the famous "Clyde Building" where Paul spent most of his time |
After graduation we had a Heinzen family reunion at a cabin up in Heber. It was so fun to spend time all together up there. I really didn't take any pictures. I wish I did. But we went on walks, ate yummy food, played Liar's Dice, played pool, ping pong, took naps and just had fun spending time together. On Sunday we had a family testimony meeting, which really was one of my favorite parts. It was so sweet to hear everyone share their testimonies of the gospel and the importance of family. There was a very special feeling in the room and I know there must of been many Heinzen relatives who have passed on smiling down on us. so that was graduation weekend... next up... our trip to California and Hawaii!
